I am a college professor who loves to read, code, and craft. I have two great daughters and two granddaughters.
Most of the crafts I like to do are the “rinse and repeat” variety. Like beading. I love picking up the beads and placing them in neat little rows, making beautiful designs as I go. I have made Christmas ornaments and many, many jewelry pieces. I also like knitting. I very much enjoy the feel of the yarn through my hands and the look of the needles as they take up another stitch. I have made many knitted objects. Needlepoint is one of my favorite things, although I don’t do it very much anymore. It’s very hard on the eyes and the hands. I enjoy Temari, which is the “art” of using tiny threads to make mostly geometric designs on circular objects. I have recently tried weaving so that I could use some of the leftover yarns from my knitting projects. I must admit that it is relaxing, although I don’t think I’m doing a great job. All of these things require little active thought—just the desire to make something. I usually listen to books while I do crafts.
I will read anything that stays still. I usually read on my Kindle. I exercise quite a bit everyday and read most of the time I am exercising. My favorite authors? Fredrik Backman, John Grisham, Malcolm Gladwell, Stephen King, Liane Moriarty, John Connelly.
Thank you so much for being part of my blog and my life.
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see what I am learning and doing. However, a better option is join me! Pick something new to learn. Get started. Let's do this together. Let me know what you are learning and doing.
